- Grout Cleaning is a cinch with Borax. Bathroom tile grout tends to accumulate moisture, which leads to mildew and mold. Use Borax to clean the grout. Place 2 parts Baking Soda, ¼ cup Borax, and enough water to make a paste. Mix it well. Apply the paste to the grout with a tooth brush and scrub it. Let the solution sit for about ½ hour, then rinse with clear water. Squeeze the water off and the grout will be white.
