Basements, most of us have them for storage of all extra items in the house. Basement Cleaning should be done at least once per year. Most basements are cement. So, if order to thoroughly clean any basement, all items should be taken out or moved to one side, then to the other.
The first thing to do in cleaning the basement, is to start from the ceiling pipes. A good wet-dry vacuum is a good vacuum for a basement. Any home goods store will have it, e.g. Home-depot, Menards, Ace hardware, etc. Start by vacuuming the pipes , rafters, and corners on the ceiling and getting all the cobwebs, insects, etc. out.
After a thorough ceiling cleaning, vacuum all the cement walls for additional dust. Use the floor brush for vacuuming the walls. It takes a lot less time.
Now, start on cleaning the basement floor. Move all items to one side of the basement. Vacuum that side of the basement. Wet the floor with a string mop. Next, get some heavy duty basement cleaner for cement and apply it liberally on your basement floor. Take a long handled scrubber and start to scrub the floor to remove any spots and to get rid of all the dirt and grime. If you have mildew, a mildew remover should be applied also. Rinse that half of the basement with clear water and let dry.
Follow the same procedure for the other half of the basement. In no time, you will have a sanitary and clean basement. A clean basement permeates up through the house and keeps your house cleaner and more germ free.
